Xfinity outage: Comcast customers report internet outages across Chicago area, country

CHICAGO (WLS) — A Comcast outage knocked out cable, internet and phones to thousands of people across the country.

Comcast called it a “connection concern” as an outage knocked out power to homes and businesses across the country.

The cable outage started around 7 a.m. Chicago time, just as thousands of people working from home began to get ready to log on and start their work day.

Thousands took to Twitter to post about their cable and internet access being out, In a short time, more than 50,000 Comcast Xfinity outages were reported.

By around 8:30 Chicago time, the outage seemed to be resolved.

In the San Francisco Bay area, a wave of Comcast internet outages began Monday night.

Comcast representatives have not commented on this massive outage.
