Where Is Norma McCorvey Baby Shelley Lynn Thornton Today? Roe v Wade Ruling Overturned By Supreme Co

Roe v. Wade, a historic judgment that established the constitutional right to an abortion, was overruled by the Supreme Court in a 5-4 vote.

Since 1973, Roe has allowed for abortions to be performed during the first two trimesters of pregnancy in the US.  According to cnbc.com, as a result of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the Mississippi case known as Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, about half of the states are anticipated to abolish or severely restrict abortion.

The court’s contentious but anticipated decision allows individual states to determine their abortion regulations without worrying about violating Roe.

Due to the Supreme Court’s ruling, which is connected to a new Mississippi abortion law with extremely stringent requirements, nearly half of the states are anticipated to abolish or severely restrict abortion.

A Texas law that outlaws abortion after six weeks was upheld amid a dispute, prompting many to worry that the Conservative-controlled Supreme Court would invalidate Roe v. Wade.
